PLEASE NOTE: Potatoes can be very finicky while traveling in transit. They can be extremely sensitive to extreme temperatures which are sometimes out of our control as they transit long distances on trucks and planes. If they get too hot or too cold, they will begin to “sweat” and eventually smell unpleasant. Should your potatoes not arrive in perfect condition, please let us know via email (info@syracusecrate.com) so that we can reimburse the purchaser the full amount of the cost of the potatoes. Because of the extremely high cost of shipping, it is not cost prohibitive for us to reship. Thank you for your understanding.

Description
By the early 1900s, Salt Potatoes were a Central New York favorite and a local entrepreneur, John Hinerwadel, started serving them as a side “at his famous clambakes.” He later began packaging five-pound bags of potatoes along with a 12-ounce box of salt and labeled them Hinerwadel’s Famous Original Salt Potatoes. Accept no substitutes. The first packaged salt potatoes were sold in the 1960s. To date, the Hinerwadel family has sold millions of bags of salt potatoes, and they are still counting.
